Chief Scientific Adviser of the British government has suggested to begin shooting of badgers to prevent distribution of the bull tuberculosis. He believes, that it is necessary to resort to this measure in regions where disease of large horned livestock is especially high.
Badgers are natural carrier of the bull tuberculosis pathogene: catching from cows on one farm, they transfer it to other herds. Especially complex situation develops in southwest England shires.
According to the National union of farmers of the Great Britain, up to 2,5 thousand heads of cattle annually catch the bull tuberculosis that leads to necessity cull up to 30 thousand animals.
Who knows? They can really kill all the stripies…
